The Town of Lewiston Town Council welcomed the Village of Lewiston Board of Trustees to Town Hall Monday for the first of what is expected to become quarterly joint meetings.
Elected leaders discussed:
•Working together on a new contract with the Lewiston Police Department, while giving the village more input on LPD financial and personnel decisions;
•The pros and cons of keeping an ice rink at Academy Park or relocating it to one of the Water Street parking lots;
•Repairing water retention areas abutting Kiwanis Park; and
•Working with grant writer Bernie Rotella to identify projects that could receive Greenway or other state funding.
The meeting was informal and no decisions were made.
