To support guardianship, recreational opportunities for people with disabilities in Cattaraugus & Niagara counties
Intandem press release
NYSARC Inc. Cattaraugus Niagara Counties Chapter (d/b/a Intandem), a not-for-profit organization supporting people with disabilities in Cattaraugus and Niagara counties, has been awarded $29,836 in grants from the trustee management board of NYSARC Trust Services to support Intandem’s guardianship and recreation programs.
NYSARC Trust Services administers supplemental needs trusts (SNT) and pooled trusts that can make dramatic improvements to the lives of people with disabilities by enabling individuals to maintain financial eligibility for Medicaid and other means-tested government benefit programs. For 2026, NYSARC Trust Services is proud to fulfill its commitment to enhancing the lives of people with disabilities by awarding the grants to The Arc New York Chapters statewide.
This year, Intandem received $11,104 to provide guardianship services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who would not otherwise have a legal guardian or advocate. Supported by chapter staff and community volunteers, Intandem’s guardianship program currently provides guardianship supports and services to three people and is ready to assist more as a standby or alternate standby guardian.
NYSARC Trust Services also awarded Intandem $18,732 to support new recreational opportunities and enrich the lives of the nearly 2,000 individuals it serves. Intandem plans to use the recreation grant funds to offer outings and experiences that most would not have been possible otherwise. These programs play a vital role in promoting social engagement, wellness and community inclusion.
