'Big R': 'Test, Tune and Time' officially kicks off Ransomville Speedway's 66th season

The 66th season of racing at the Ransomville Speedway officially began on Friday night for the annual “Test, Tune, and Time.” Seventy-one cars signed in pitside to open the 2024 campaign. The top two quickest during time trials have set the front row for opening night feature events in their respective divisions. 

Phil Vigneri III (17.435 seconds) and Gary Lindberg (17.437) will be on the front row for the Krown Undercoating 358 Modifieds. Brett Senek (18.233) and Jordan Moden (18.290) will be on the front row for the Stirling Lubricants DIRTcar Sportsman. Brandon Sherwood (19.483) and John Zimmerman (19.556) set the front row for the KiPo Chevrolet Street Stocks. “Mr. Peanut” Ryan Plante (21.978) and Curtis Rung (22.490) will bring the Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stocks to the green flag on opening night. Tyler Foster (18.726) and Ken Camidge (18.973) will be on the front row for the Kevin’s Carpet Cleaning Novice Sportsman feature Friday, on opening night.

Pole-sitters for both the Krown Undercoating 358 Modifieds and the Stirling Lubricants DIRTcar Sportsman received a drum of VP Race Fuels if they are a Ransomville Speedway member. The drums of VP Fuels are courtesy of BKH Speed & Parts, VP Race Fuels, and Ransomville Speedway. 

The 66th season opener is set for 7:15 p.m. Friday, May 3. Pit gates will open at 5 p.m., and grandstands will open at 6 p.m.

Ransomville Speedway is located on Braley Road in the hamlet of Ransomville. “The Big R” is a 3/8th-mile DIRTcar-sanctioned facility that is “Home of the Summer Nationals.” Ransomville also features a 1/16th-mile go-kart track for action on the “Little R” on Thursday nights.
