National Fuel Press Release

In recognition of Earth Day and Earth Month, on Monday, April 22, through Wednesday, April 24, more than 700 National Fuel employees will provide approximately 2,300 hours of volunteer service across the company’s New York and Pennsylvania service territory during “Days of Doing” (DOD), an annual, three-day, companywide event. National Fuel executives and employees will volunteer in a variety of service projects focused on environmental conservation, including planting, clean-up and beautification at state and regional parks and within neighborhoods.

“During ‘Days of Doing,’ a highly anticipated and expanding event at National Fuel, we give back to the areas where we operate, live and work,” said David P. Bauer, president and CEO. “This year, National Fuel employees will be actively volunteering and working on 40 different improvement projects to help advance environmental stewardship throughout our communities.”

In New York, DOD volunteer activities will begin each day at 12:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted. Sites include:

•Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy: Volunteers will assist with gardening, landscaping and spring cleaning at Riverside (Monday), Front (Tuesday) and MLK (Wednesday) parks.

•Tifft Nature Preserve in Buffalo: Volunteers will assist with tree maintenance, planting live stakes, and invasive species removal on Monday and Wednesday.

• Revitalize Dunkirk: On Monday, volunteer duties include garden cleanup at Bicentennial Park, Janice Slaton Memorial Garden and the Dunkirk Pier, as well as clean up along Main Street.

•Cradle Beach Inc. in Angola: Volunteers will be present on Tuesday to prepare the camp for the upcoming season by helping with yard work and spring cleaning.

•Knox Farm State Park in East Aurora: Activities on Tuesday include assisting with gardening and clean-up of the park grounds.

•Heart, Love & Soul in Niagara Falls: Beginning at noon Tuesday, a group will assist the agency with outdoor spring cleaning, yard work and gardening.

•The Village of Wellsville: On Tuesday, volunteers will participate in projects throughout the village, including landscaping, garbage pick-up and baseball field maintenance.

•Chautauqua Water Shed in Jamestown: On Wednesday, volunteers will help “beaver-proof” trees along the Chadakoin River to prevent the beaver population from disturbing the trees.

•Audubon Community Nature Center in Jamestown: On Wednesday beginning at 1 p.m., volunteers will assist with the Center’s spring cleanup, collecting trash along Route 62.

Over the course of “Days of Doing,” National Fuel employees will provide a value of approximately $75,000 to the 40 organizations based on the national volunteer hour value of $31.80 and the 2,300 man hours logged for the community initiative. In addition, National Fuel plans to provide participating “Days of Doing” nonprofits with a charitable gift and will continue to increase corporate volunteerism through its established “Faces of Fuel” volunteer program.
