Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center hosted its employee service and quarterly award ceremony, a highlight of its hospitalwide employee appreciation week, to recognize NFMMC's long-tenured and dedicated employees who have reached significant service milestones and recognition by their co-workers.

A press release stated, “The ceremony is an opportunity for NFMMC to recognize exceptional employees who consistently demonstrate professionalism, dedication to excellence, and unwavering commitment in their daily interactions with patients and staff.”

"Our employees are the backbone of our hospital," said Josephine Harris, director of human resources at NFMMC. "Celebrating their milestones and successes enables us to highlight the critical roles they fulfill in propelling the hospital forward as the sole medical center operating in Niagara County."

This year’s event honored 167 employees who have distinguished themselves by serving the hospital for 20, 30, 40, 50, and even 60 years. These long-serving team members received gifts, recognition certificates, and shared a celebratory cake to mark their incredible journey and contributions to healthcare excellence at NFMMC.

Among the celebrated were Ann Flack of gastroenterology and Carol Gariano from nutrition services, who have dedicated 60 and 50 years of service, respectively.

The press release stated, “Their unparalleled commitment highlights the depth of experience and dedication present within the NFMMC team.”

In addition to celebrating service milestones, the ceremony spotlighted individual contributions through the team member of the quarter awards, presented to outstanding members in clinical and non-clinical roles. This quarter's honorees were Payroll Coordinator Teresa Speck, who received the Non-Clinical Award, and PACU Nurse Tina Manz, who was honored with the Clinical Award. These awards were given “in recognition of their dedication and the high regard they hold for their colleagues, as evidenced by nominations from their peers.”
