Press Release

Today, Nine-time Grammy Award-winner and 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Sheryl Crow releases her 11th full-length studio album, “Evolution,” via The Valory Music Co. Featuring nine new songs, the album is produced by Mike Elizondo (Dr. Dre, Maroon 5, Keith Urban, Gary Clark Jr.).

Listen to “Evolution” here.

“Evolution” features the single "Alarm Clock,” co-written with Elizondo and Emily Weisband. Crow took to the stage on “Good Morning America” today for an electrifying live performance of the album’s contemplative title track, “Evolution,” following an appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” yesterday evening. The new album also features recently released songs, “Do It Again” and “Digging In The Dirt” featuring Peter Gabriel, with the latter available exclusively on the digital deluxe version of “Evolution.”

Crow publicly stated she would not release another full-length album after “Threads” (2018), so “Evolution” comes as a welcomed surprise.

“Everything is more song-oriented now with streaming, and making an album is a huge endeavor,” Crow said. “I started sending just a couple demos to Mike, but the songs kept flowing out of me, and it was pretty obvious this was going to be an album.”

“Evolution” is Crow at her most authentically human self.

“This music and these lyrics came from sitting in the quiet and writing from a deep soul place,” she said. “I said I’d never make another record – thought there was no point to it – but this music comes from my soul. I hope whoever hears this record can feel that.”

Crow is a nine-time Grammy Award recipient and an American music icon. Her first nine studio albums have sold 35 million copies worldwide – seven charting in the Top 10, with five certified for multi-Platinum sales. Crow has been feted by a new generation of singer-songwriters who have covered her songs and talked about her influence, including Phoebe Bridgers, H.E.R, Haim, Maren Morris, Lorde, Sasami, Best Coast and Brandi Carlile.
