Village of Lewiston DPW shares safety & garbage collection information for eclipse

The Village of Lewiston Department of Public Works has issued these guidelines for the eclipse weekend.

Friday through Monday, April 5-8

•No parking on Onondaga Street from North Ninth to North Fourth streets, North Ninth from Center to Onondaga streets, North Fourth from Center to Oneida streets, Oneida from North Fourth to North Second streets.

•North Sixth Street from Center to Onondaga streets will be closed entirely for firehall use.

•The lower parking lot at boat launch will be closed to prevent congestion and allow access to launch for boaters.

•The parking lot at Lewiston Plateau will be closed.

•All municipal public bathrooms will be closed.

Portable toilets will be placed at Academy Park, Hennepin Park, Lewiston Landing and Richard F. Soluri Park (until Tuesday).

Monday, April 8

•The DPW will be closed. Residents with normal trash pickup on Mondays should have all trash out to the street for Tuesday morning collection.

•The Clerk’s Office, the Recreation Department and the Red Brick Municipal Building as a whole will be closed.
