On Feb. 27, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Niagara Falls Police responded to the Courtyard by Marriott, at 900 Buffalo Ave., to investigate a one-vehicle accident. A 61-year-old woman operating a 2015 Lexus allegedly accidentally accelerated through the building and into the swimming pool.
Hotel personnel assisted in the removal of the occupants from the vehicle. The driver and her 3-year-old passenger were evaluated by AMR and the Niagara Falls Fire Department. They were unharmed and did not require further medical attention.
There was significant damage to the building, which was assessed by the city inspectors.
