The Col. William Bond/Jesse Hawley House will be open to visitors for a special afternoon on Jan. 28.

Between 2-4 p.m., members of the public will be able to tour all 12 rooms of the oldest brick house in Niagara County as the house enters its 200th birthday year. Guests will walk in the footsteps of the building’s 19th century owners, while enjoying the house they called home.

By popular request, the house’s Victorian Christmas decorations will be on display as they were in December.

Jan. 28 will also mark the first day of the Col. Bond House “200th Birthday Bash” basket raffle, a month-long event to benefit the Niagara County Historical Society. Raffle prizes were donated by many WNY businesses, including: Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar; Buffalo Bandits; Buffalo Bills; Buffalo Bisons; Buffalo Sabres; Chiavetta's BBQ; Clyde's Feed & Animal Center; GI-RO Dry Cleaners; Kith & Kin Bakeshop & Bistro; New York Beer Project; Newfane Lumber Co.; One-Eyed Jack's Smokehouse Grill; Salvatore's Grand Hotel/Russell's Steaks, Chops & More; Tops Friendly Markets; Tractor Supply Co.; and W Marketing Group.

Reservations are not required, but guests can call the NCHS at 716-434-7433 with questions or for directions.

The Col. William Bond/Jesse Hawley House, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is located at 143 Ontario St., Lockport.
