New York State Builders Association elects Peter Florey as president

The New York State Builders Association announces the election of Peter Florey as its new president, effective Jan. 1, 2024.

A press release stated, “Florey, with a robust background in housing development, steps into this leadership role to further NYSBA's commitment as the leading advocate for homebuilders and housing in New York state.

“Florey brings a wealth of experience to NYSBA. He has previously held the president position at the Long Island Builders Institute and the Queens Bronx Builders Association. As a principal of D&F Development Group LLC, based in Levittown, New York, Florey has demonstrated a strong commitment to promoting housing construction and development in the region.”

NYSBA Executive Vice President Michael Fazio expressed his enthusiasm for Florey's election: “Peter's extensive experience and dedication to housing construction in New York make him an ideal leader for NYSBA. We are excited to have him at the helm and look forward to his contributions in advancing our mission.”

Upon his election, Florey said, “New York state is at a crucial juncture in addressing its housing crisis. Despite legislative challenges, there is a strong momentum among our elected leaders to tackle this issue. I am eager to collaborate with legislators and the governor to innovate and expand housing opportunities in our state.”

The press release added, “Peter Florey’s election as president of NYSBA marks a significant step in the association's ongoing efforts to advocate for housing solutions and support the home-building industry in New York state.”
