On Oct. 18, at 7:26 p.m., the Niagara County Sheriff's Office dispatch center received a call reporting a house fire at 6988 Jennifer Court in the Town of Wheatfield.
Niagara County Sheriff's Office deputies responded and confirmed the exterior wall of the residence's attached garage was on fire. The fire, which had apparently started near ground level, was traveling upward toward the roofline.
Following the evacuation of the residents, the fire was subsequently extinguished by members of the Frontier, Bergholz, St. Johnsburg and Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station fire companies, who also responded to the scene.
The residence sustained moderate fire and smoke damage. No injuries were reported.
An investigation into the cause of the fire by the Niagara County Origin and Cause Team is underway.
