Sculptor Susan Geissler directed a group of volunteers from American Legion Post 1346 in the annual cleaning and waxing of the statue of Charles DeGlopper. Geissler, whose works include the Freedom Crossing and Tuscarora Heroes monuments in Lewiston, said regular cleaning and waxing of bronze sculptures will ensure they stay in good condition for years to come.
In addition to Geissler, volunteers cleaning the statue include Geissler’s husband, Peter Henderson; as well as Chris Banks, Kris DeGlopper-Banks, Ray DeGlopper and Earl DeGlopper.
