This May, Ten Lives Club Cat Adoption Group invites animal lovers to do something crucial to save the lives of shelter cats: drink beer.

The ninth annual "Beer for Cats," a beer-tasting and fundraiser hosted by Ten Lives Club, will be held on Friday, May 26, at Mr. Goodbar, 1110 Elmwood Ave., Buffalo. For $10, participants will receive tickets to try two 10-ounce specialty drafts, handpicked by cat-loving beer aficionados.

This year, beer lovers will be able to choose between three local beers, up from the two offered in previous years. One of the featured beers will be Rutherford B. Haze, a Belgian wheat beer by Community Beer Works. The remaining two beers have not yet been revealed. Participants are encouraged to stay tuned to Ten Lives Club's Facebook page to learn about additional featured beers as they are revealed.

"Beer for Cats" will also include a silent auction featuring local beer-themed gifts, a basket raffle, and other opportunities to win prizes and money.

Beer for Cats opens at 5 p.m., and continues until 7:30 p.m., or as long as beer supplies last. For further information about "Beer for Cats," or to donate a basket or gift to the event, contact Ten Lives Club at 716-646-5577 or [email protected].
