Staff at Mount View Assisted Living in Lockport, and Cobb's Hill Assisted Living in Rochester, believe seniors don't have to stop living, or give up their dreams. In fact, they want to know what's on each senior's bucket list.

Would you believe it's flying an airplane?

Mount View and Cobb's Hill are making this bucket list wish happen for their residents - and at no cost. On Monday, two seniors - 79-year-old Carol Terrier and 69-year-old Gary Lickfeld - pictured - will be the first to "take to the skies." Aloft Flight Lessons in Batavia will provide individual flight lessons at the Genesee County Airport.

And, yes, once in the seniors are in the air, they will man the controls.

GoPros will be in place to record this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Flight lessons will continue throughout 2017.

Mount View owner/operator David Tosetto, who has 20-plus years of developing senior communities, stated, "This is such a unique opportunity for our seniors and beyond anyone's expectations. We believe in them, maybe even more than they believe in themselves. Last August, we closed our doors and took all our residents and staff to the beach for the day, because several told me they never dreamed they would go to the beach again. A number of residents expressed interest in going to college, so we registered them, provided classroom materials and computers, transported them, studied with them, and they each received a certificate of completion in computer science. It's our goal to make their dreams happen."

David Communities owners David Stapleton and Tosetto opened Mount View Assisted Living in August 2015. It's a 150-unit New York State Department of Health-licensed assisted living program. Both private pay and Medicaid are welcome.

Cobb's Hill opened last September and is also a state-licensed assisted living facility.
