On Oct. 22, a rare evening performance featuring the Old School B-Boys and vocalist Melissa Kate will take place at the all-new Varsity Theatre on 3165 Bailey Ave., Buffalo. The night will be filled with the moves and soul of the Temptations, Mary Wells, Barbara Acklin, Marvin Gaye and more.

Parking is available nearby, with valet parking optional.

The Old School B-Boys have been performing together since the '60s, fusing the songs from Motown and Philly with the soulful feel that made groups like the Temptations famous. Led by Allan Carrier and Marcus Brown, the five singers are accompanied by a team of deep funk musicians.

Kate is an international vocalist who has been featured over the past decade with the award-winning Taylor Made Jazz, and is now a partner of Three2Go Music Alliance. Her music is a light, theatrical mix of sultry cabaret jazz and blues.

Three2Go Music Alliance is a collaborative between Van Taylor Productions Inc., RW Music & Video, and Melissa Kate Productions. They formed to unite their experience and expertise into a powerhouse team of music production, recording, artist development and songwriting.

"A Taste of Motown" is the first full-show collaboration between the B-Boys and Three2Go.

Joyce Wilson Nixon will emcee.
