Help! We need some bodies! Help! Not just any bodies! With a little help from our friends, Lewiston Council on the Arts has planned a new event: "Twist and Shout." The celebration of Beatles music features students from Lewiston Music and Amy Teal's Music Studio, performances by Mark Porter's Pastmasters and the Summer of 69's Lewiston All Stars, and an open mic night.

The event runs from 4-10 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at the Lewiston Stone House, 755 Center St., Lewiston. The cost is $5 per person. Proceeds will benefit the LCA.

The Summer of '69 All Star Band formed for the popular "Summer of '69" reunion show. The band brings its own unique musical life experiences to the event. Members include Vanik Aloian, Bill Bates, Gouv Cadwalader, Rick Catanese, Frank Fracassi, Tom Pieroni, Brandy Scrufari, Chuck Scrufari and Kevin Toohey, along with audio engineer Jason Dimet.

The members of Pastmasters read like the "who's who" of Western New York rock band royalty. Headed up by the versatile Porter, formerly of Paleface, the band includes Jeramy Carroll on guitar and keyboards; Matt O'Neil, a super drummer from Boston; Rich Campagna, bass player from Girlpope; and lead guitar prodigy Joe Tosto.

Additionally, "If you have any musical instruments that have been sitting around gathering dust, please bring them to the event and we will donate them to Instruments for Peace (IFP)," LCA Artistic Director Eva Nicklas said.

Established in memory of Ryan Henderson, IFP provides instruments to Lew-Port students who wish to pursue their love of music, but who may not be able to afford an instrument.

"If your instruments need a little TLC, Tony Petrocelli, from Lewiston Music, has volunteered to refurbish them before he sends them on to Lew-Port's music program. Thanks to the Henderson family for their generosity in sponsoring the event and spreading the joy of music," Nicklas said.

Raffle tickets for an acoustic guitar donated by Lewiston Music and Victor Garcia will be sold and the winner drawn that evening.

"Thanks also to our host Emery Simon, owner of the Lewiston Stone House," Nicklas said.
