'Renovation Road' to air Saturday on both HGTV and DIY Network featuring room's Michael Poczkalski as design producer
This Saturday, Michael "Michael P." Poczkalski, owner and principal designer of room and michael P. design, is set to make his third national television appearance this year. Michael P. will serve as design producer on an episode of "Renovation Road" to air at noon on HGTV and at 8 p.m. on DIY Network. He transforms an abandoned, turn-of-the-century Connellsville, Pennsylvania, home into a modern marvel.
"It is a dream come true to have my work and vision be broadcasted on such notable platforms for people across the nation to see," Michael P. said. "I hope this program will inspire Buffalonians to reimagine some of our gorgeous housing stock for today's modern life."
What started as a two-room renovation, Michael P., Raelyn Woltz, assistant design producer for the show and associate designer with michael P. design, and the rest of the room staff applied state-of-the-art design practices to the kitchen, master bedroom, living room, foyer, dining room and mudroom, as well as to the exterior.
"We worked to keep as much of the original features of the property that we could while incorporating contemporary design ideas such as customized shelving, hanging herbs and industrial-style black metal paired with marble tiles," Michael P. said.
With an extensive portfolio, including projects on DIY Network's "American Rehab: Buffalo," HGTV's "House Hunter's Renovation" and Buffalo's historic Hotel Lafayette, Michael P. is Buffalo's leading nationally celebrated designer.
He started michael P. design in 2005, specializing in residential and commercial interiors. Discovering the need for high-level design products, Michael and his partner, David Brugh, opened room, a luxury furniture boutique offering Buffalo classic contemporary home styling, featuring a selection of furniture, tableware, rugs and accessories.
