The Youngstown Business and Professional Association Inc. was the recipient of a $3,000 grant from the William G. Mayne Jr. Business/Community Enhancement Program grant awards, presented Tuesday at a meeting of the Niagara County Legislature.

YBPA President Cheryl Butera said the YBPA, in cooperation with the Village of Youngstown, will work together to provide the following from this year's grant:

•Funding for the annual reprint of YBPA's successful "Welcome to Youngstown" brochure, which features local events, businesses and a walking map of the village.

•Hanging flower baskets and planters that will line Main and Lockport streets.

"The plan is to refurbish the signpost at the intersection of Main and Water streets, as well as refurbish the theme-painted fire hydrants. Lastly, we hope to add more seating benches to add to the charm of our lovely village," Butera said.
