Tickets are now available for Polar Bites 2015, a fundraising event benefiting the Buffalo Zoo's animal residents.
The popular wintertime event, presented by the "Pro Zoo Board," will take place from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center. Polar Bites will feature food and beverages from some of Western New York's finest establishments, as well as a basket auction, silent auction and visits with some of the zoo's animals. There will be live entertainment from The Steve Balesteri Band.
Proceeds from Polar Bites benefit the Buffalo Zoo's annual operating fund, which keeps the venue running year-round. Though the zoo is open during winter months, attendance is much lower than during the warm season. The zoo relies on the operating fund to keep the animals warm, well-fed and happy during this time.
Tickets cost $35 each in advance or $45 at the door. A limited number of VIP tickets are available for $75. Each VIP ticket holder will receive early admission to Polar Bites as well as a limited edition wine glass and access to a VIP-only door prize raffle. To purchase tickets, call 800-838-3006 or order online at buffalozoo.org.
