Mount St. Mary's Hospital and Health Center volunteers have been in a giving mood.

Volunteers gathered for a photo prior to the annual Christmas gift give-away at the Conference & Event Center Niagara Falls Dec 20. More than 200 families in need were served through a program coordinated by Mount St Mary's Hospital and the Mount St Mary's Neighborhood Health Center.

Gifts were collected by the hospital and health center and donations came in from parishioners at St. Peter's R.C. Church in Lewiston, Divine Mercy and St. Mary of the Cataract in Niagara Falls, St Peter's School in Lewiston, West Street Elementary in Sanborn, Stella Niagara, the Niagara University student nurses association and campus ministry, Sevenson Environmental, Stuart Sports, the Boy Scouts and several local families.

The St. Francis Guild, a women's volunteer group associated with Mount St. Mary's Hospital, recently presented a $60,000 check to hospital President and CEO Judith Maness from events held during the past year. The funds were raised at the annual Pink Elephant Luncheon, various sales throughout the year and in gift shops at the hospital and Our Lady of Peace.
