Season five winners Melodores to join tour as special guests on select dates
Wednesday night during its special one-night, two-hour television event, NBC's hit a-cappella music competition "The Sing-Off" crowned Nashville-based Melodores the winners of season five. The Vanderbilt University a-cappella group was the only collegiate group to be selected to compete this season on the show, which launched a-cappella sensations Pentatonix and Home Free onto the national stage.
In addition to earning the $50,000 prize, the group has announced it will join the upcoming national tour "The Sing-Off Live!" which kicks off Feb. 17 in Verona (select dates only). Watch footage of their winning performance here on NBC.com.
The season five holiday special also revealed this season's contestants The Exchange will join previously announced VoicePlay and Street Corner Symphony on the live tour. The Exchange, who met on season three of "The Sing-Off," will perform on all 55 dates.
The tour will offer the ultimate a-cappella experience, giving fans of the show a unique opportunity to see their favorite groups perform live, and offer fans of a-cappella music an evening of some of the country's top talent. In addition to headlining acts, each concert will feature local a-cappella groups to open the show, allowing fans the chance to discover top local talent.
