The free concerts presented by the University at Buffalo Music Department are an opportunity to hear unique music at no cost. The first of three "brown bag" lunchtime concerts of the season will occur Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 12:05 p.m. This concert will take place on the stage of Lippes Concert Hall in Slee Hall, and is presented primarily to showcase the talents of the UB music department students and faculty.

Patrons should feel free to bring and enjoy lunch during the performance. A voucher redeemable for two complimentary tickets for a more formal concert presented by the UB music department before the next "brown bag" concert will be available to all in attendance.

The next concert will be presented Feb. 3, 2015, at 12:05 p.m. in Lippes Concert Hall.

The following student performances also are free of charge:

•"On the Edge" class performance, Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 3 p.m., Lippes Concert Hall in Slee Hall.

•"On the Edge" honors class performance, Thursday, Oct. 16, at 5 p.m., Baird Recital Hall (Baird Hall, Room 250).
