Heart of Niagara Animal Rescue will be present with adoptable dogs this Saturday, Aug. 2, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., at Budwey's Supermarket, 535 Division St., North Tonawanda. Dogs Samson, Red, Toby, Kayla and Skipper will be there this Saturday; photos and information on these and all their animals are available online at www.heartofniagara.org.

The public is invited to come and meet these beautiful animals and to find out more about the adoption process, animal care, and upcoming meetings and events.

Heart of Niagara is a not-for-profit companion animal rescue organization based in Niagara County. Its mission is to protect the health and welfare of abandoned, unwanted and homeless animals. Volunteers have adopted out about 200 animals to date and operate solely on donations and the generosity and support of the public.

HON's next volunteer meeting is Wednesday Aug. 13, from 6:30-8 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston, 505 Cayuga St. (upstairs blue room). The meeting is open to the public; new volunteers are always welcome. The August meeting will be an ice cream social.

Topics will include a recap of the recent picnic, and upcoming events. For more information, visit www.heartofniagara.org or call 716-345-7129.
