Assemblyman John Ceretto, Gov. Andrew Cuomo, State Sen. George Maziarz and Niagara Falls Mayor Paul Dyster will co-host a citizen preparedness training program Saturday, June 28, at 10:30 a.m. at the Conference & Event Center Niagara Falls. The purpose of the event is to educate the public about responding to natural disasters, giving them the information and resources they need to recover as quickly as possible.
Everyone who attends will be given a New York state disaster preparedness kit with items to help in the event of a disaster.
"After the flooding that occurred here last year, residents want to know how they can be better prepared for future natural disasters," Ceretto said. "I encourage everyone who wants to be equipped to protect their family in the event of a natural disaster to come and learn how to prepare and recover afterward."
Those who wish to attend the event must register in advance by visiting http://www.nyprepare.gov/aware-prepare/nysprepare/registration/.
