So, you have an older book and you're not quite sure how old it is or if it's worth something.

This presentation is for you.

"Everything You Wanted to Know About Old Books ... But Were Afraid To Ask," presented by the Historical Association of Lewiston, will take place at 7 p.m. Monday, April 28, at the Lewiston Opera Hall, 732 Center St. The event is free and open to the public.

Bob Giannetti, owner of Bob's Olde Books in Lewiston, will present an entertaining and informative program about his three decades of experience collecting and dealing in antiquarian books.

Is a book valuable just because it is old? Just what does constitute a rare book? How is it valued? What basic collecting principles need to be observed?

Along with addressing these topics, Giannetti will provide a brief overview of the history of book manufacture and discuss the place of physical books in a digital world. A number of examples of fine old books will be exhibited, including many dealing with Lewiston and Western New York.

Refreshments will be served.
