Niagara County Department of Health offers diabetes prevention programby jmaloni
The Niagara County Department of Health will offer a free diabetes prevention program at the Dale Association beginning Jan. 23.
This is an evidence-based, 16-week program designed to help participants reduce their risk of type 2 diabetes. The classes are one hour in length and will run for 16 consecutive Thursdays. These sessions are followed by six to eight monthly sessions designed to offer additional support and help in maintaining lifestyle changes.
The class will help participants to improve food choices, increase physical activity and learn coping skills to maintain weight loss and healthy lifestyle changes.
