Children ages 7-12 are invited to celebrate Columbus Day at the History Center of Niagara County on Monday, Oct. 14, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This year's program will highlight the life of a pirate and the lesser-known privateer.
Each child will be given the identity of a real pirate from history, both male and female. The participants will then learn about their real-life pirates. Activities include talking like a pirate, making a pirate hat and sword, playing a pirate game, acting out skits about pirates, and using a map to find a treasure hidden somewhere on the museum grounds. A pirate-themed snack will also be provided.
The cost of the program is $10 per child. Reservations are required. Parents are encouraged to leave their children for the duration of the program. Call or email the History Center at 716-434-7433 or [email protected] for reservations and more information.
