Bob Koshinski, vice president and general manager of WBBZ-TV, has announced "Your Hometown Television Station" will be the exclusive broadcast home for Atlantic Coast Conference sports, which will include a select number of Syracuse Orange and University at Pittsburgh men's football games.

"We are very excited to be bringing ACC football to Western New York," he said. "With the great Syracuse and Pitt alumni presence in this region, and the number of local athletes who compete for this elite conference - like St. Joe's own quarterback Chad Kelly at Clemson, Canisius grad LB James Gaines at Miami, and former St. Francis longsnapper David Murphy at Pitt - ACC offers tremendous sports programming for our WBBZ-TV viewers."

A special "ACC Football Kick-Off Show," with a preview of the upcoming season, will air Saturday Aug. 24, at 2 p.m. on WBBZ-TV

The broadcast schedule of games begins Saturday, Aug. 31, with Louisiana Tech at NC State; Saturday, Sept. 7, with Middle Tennessee at North Carolina; and Saturday, Sept. 14, with New Mexico at Pittsburgh. ACC College Football will air through Saturday, Nov. 30, with specific matchups to be announced. All games air live in HD beginning at noon on WBBZ-TV.

The ACC conference features one of the richest traditions in all of college sports, as well as 14 football national championship titles. In 2012, the conference sent six football teams to participate in bowl games, including one BCS. The ACC finished the 2012 season with two teams ranked in the Top 10 of the USA Today Coaches Poll: Florida State (8) and Clemson (9).

Charlotte-based Raycom Sports is the current syndicated television rights holder of ACC men's basketball and football telecasts. Raycom is a leading independent sports sales and marketing, syndication, event management and production firm. In a partnership with the ACC, Raycom operates the ACC Network, which distributes ACC content through live television.

A complete ACC schedule of games will be updated on www.wbbz.tv.

WBBZ-TV is Western New York's only locally owned and operated television station. Check your local listings for WBBZ.
