Erie County Legislator Kevin Hardwick has announced his third annual Valentines for Veterans program generated thousands of cards as a result of the hard work of schools located within the district he represents.

"Several schools from my district have been great supporters of the Valentines for Veterans program. This year the cards will be delivered to local veterans' organizations, as well as sent to men and women currently serving overseas. Thanks to the efforts of the students, I have delivered thousands of cards to members of our military and veterans during the past three years. This program continues to grow and shows our veterans and military personnel how much we appreciate their service," said Hardwick.

The following District 4 schools participated in the 2013 Valentines for Veterans program: The Baptist School, Fletcher School, Hamilton Elementary, Holmes Elementary, Huth Elementary, Jefferson School, Kaegebein Elementary, Mount St. Mary Academy, Mullen School, New Life Christian School, Riverview Elementary, St. Stephen School, Thomas Edison School.

Hardwick will deliver cards to members at Vietnam Veterans Chapter 77 and American Legion Post 264. With the assistance of the Missouri Synod Ministries, cards were mailed to local soldiers currently stationed overseas. Additionally, a package was sent to soldiers at Fort Drum.

Legislator Hardwick added, "The Valentines for Veterans program is an opportunity to thank our veterans and active members of the military for their commitment and sacrifice, and to remind them they are appreciated throughout the year."
