I recently dined at Lewiston's Brickyard Pub & B.B.Q. There was a three-page menu with a wide range of entrees to select from. Everyone in our party seemed to be pleased with the variety of food options.  Not only were there many options, but everything ordered was delicious and worth every penny.

What makes the Brickyard's barbecue unique from other barbecue restaurants is the meat's smoked flavor. The chef slowly cooks all the Brickyard's meats in a pit for 16 hours until the meat literally falls off the bone!  There were a variety of different smoked meats such as turkey, pork, brisket, ribs and chicken. Brickyard also offers five pit platters to choose from ranging from $16.99-$21.99 and four melt platters to choose from at $11.99.  Just reading the menu descriptions made my mouth water.

I started with a nice cold beer while reading through the menu. After reviewing the menu, I decided to start off with my favorite appetizer, ultimate fries. When the appetizer arrived to our table, I was shocked at the large portion. It was definitely worth the $8.99. The loaded fries were topped with monetary jack, cheddar cheese, bacon
bits and a side of dressing.

Another appetizer ordered for the table was their famous barbecue dry rub wings. The 10 wings were also $8.99. These were enjoyable because the dry rub really made them unique; the wings weren't messy or uncomfortable to eat, and yet the full barbecue flavor was still there.

For my main dish, I decided to order the pulled pork sandwich. This meat was so tender and juicy. I was very pleased. I enjoyed the homemade barbeque sauce so much that I ordered an extra side of it for dipping. This platter meal was $11.99 and came with two additional sides. There were 17 different options for sides; I went with the sweet potatoes fries and the mac and cheese. These were great choices because the fries were nice and crispy and the mac and cheese was absolutely delicious! A few of the other choices for sides were onion rings, Brunswick stew, the famous cornbread, and the brick yard chili.

Believe it or not, I went for dessert. All the deserts are baked daily at the Village Bake Shoppe located down the street from the Brickyard on Center Street in Lewiston. I had a piece of "Death by Chocolate Cake." All of the pies and cake slices were $4.50. The
moistness of the cake and the rich chocolate taste was the perfect way to end
the meal.

When it came to service, the staff was very friendly and attentive.  Whenever we
needed something someone was there to cater to our needs.  Although the atmosphere was crowded and small inside, the only time I noticed was when the drinking crowd started to arrive around 8:30 p.m.

I spent around $50, including drinks, desert, tip and my meal.  This price was more than reasonable, considering the amount of food I received.

Brickyard is one of my favorite restaurants in Lewiston. It always seems to have a pleasant crowd of people, the food is always good, and the drinks are decently priced. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal.
