Greif Inc., a manufacturer of industrial packaging located in Tonawanda, recently made a timely donation to Niagara Hospice. Having multiple facilities needing their parking lots free of ice and snow for visitors, volunteers and staff, Niagara Hospice was given a low-mileage, beautiful condition Chevy pickup truck that will be used to help keep facility parking clear.

Greif acquired the truck a few years ago as part of an acquisition of a Pennsylvania-based manufacturing company. No need for the truck ever arose, so Greif decided to donate the truck to a local charity. Greif employee Jason Reinard, whose sister-in-law Stacey Micoli Daniels received hospice care while at Niagara Hospice's Hospice House, instantly thought Niagara Hospice would be a great charity to donate the truck to. Greif employees agreed that Niagara Hospice was a great choice and the donation took place just weeks later.

"Niagara Hospice is grateful for this generous donation that comes in perfect time to ensure the safety of our visitors," said Niagara Hospice Alliance Director of Development Brendan McIntyre.

The Niagara Hospice Alliance was established in June 2009 to support the services and programs associated with the charitable mission of Niagara Hospice. For more information on how you can help, contact the Alliance at 716-280-0780.
