Joe Flacco, Jacoby Jones, Ray Lewis featured in season finale of "NFL Turning Point"; John Harbaugh "wired for sound"
Emmy-nominated "NFL Turning Point," NBC Sports Network's weekly NFL show co-produced by NFL Films, airs Wednesday at 10 p.m. with a special review of Super Bowl XLVII. Hosted by "Football Night In America's" Dan Patrick, this week's episode of "NFL Turning Point" examines Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco and the Baltimore Ravens' 34-31 Super Bowl XLVII win over Colin Kaepernick and the San Francisco 49ers.
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh was "wired for sound" during the game. NFL Films was there to capture moments between John Harbaugh and his brother, Jim Harbaugh, before the game and after.
"NFL Turning Point" takes an in-depth look at the 49ers record-breaking comeback in the second half of the game and how the team recovered from a 28-6 deficit. In addition, the episode reviews San Francisco's final drive of the game that almost gave the 49ers the win. NFL Films examines San Francisco's play calling, clock management and inability to score in the red zone with two minutes left.
NFL Films shines a spotlight on Ravens wideout Jacoby Jones and his 108-yard kickoff return to begin the second half of the Super Bowl.
"NFL Turning Point" also explores the power outage in the Superdome and how the unexpected 34-minute delay impacted both teams.
Each week, "NFL Turning Point" is built around select NFL match-ups from the previous weekend, and focuses on the crucial "turning point" moments that ultimately defined the outcome of each game. The show features anatomy-of-a-play type segments and long form, game-of-the-week style narratives that includes the pre-game and post-game access, sideline sounds, jaw-dropping cinematography and incredible storytelling that is synonymous with NFL Films.
The NBC Sports Group delivered a total of 22 episodes, running weekly on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. throughout the entire NFL season. "NFL Turning Point" will return to NBC Sports Network in 2014 with the same unprecedented access and will examine turning point moments in high profile games every week.
