Grand Island Venture Yearbook staff and editors spread their Christmas spirit this year by fundraising a little harder for a great cause. The group, which includes students from all grades in the high school, raised an extra $500 to donate in gift cards from the Boulevard Mall to the Ray family of Grand Island. The family had a fire break out in their home a month or so earlier. Danny Ray was a member of the Venture staff for a few years and helped in many ways to produce, market and distribute the publication. The current editors couldn't think of a better way of saying "thank you" for his efforts in the past and wanted to "take care of one of their own," in one editor's words.

Ray and his mother were presented the five $100 gift cards right before the last bell before the holiday break.
