While the calendar may say the start of winter, preparations for one of the region's favorite summer events is well under way. The Taste of Buffalo presented by Tops is now accepting applications from restaurants, food trucks and wineries interested in participating in the 2013 event, set for July 13 and 14 in downtown Buffalo.
To be eligible to apply for the Taste, interested restaurants and wineries must be public establishments, whose primary commercial function is to serve food/wine on a retail basis and be open year-round in Western New York. Wineries from the Finger Lakes wine region are also eligible to apply.
For the second year, the Taste is also inviting local food truck operators participate in the annual festival. Food truck applicants must adhere to the same menu item criteria as established restaurants, which include serving a "Healthy Option" item and "taste-size" item. Applications and additional criteria can be found at http://www.tasteofbuffalo.com. The deadline for submissions is Jan. 31.
The Taste of Buffalo presented by Tops is the nation's largest two-day food festival, attracting more than 450,000 people to downtown Buffalo. The Taste is July 13 and July 14 along Delaware Avenue and Niagara Square in downtown Buffalo.
