The following is a sampling of calls received by the Town of Niagara Police Department between Dec. 3 and 10. During that time period, 168 calls were received.
Monday, Dec. 3
•1900 block of Military Road, larceny. An Ontario man reported leaving his wallet on a bench inside the mall. Mall security found the victim's wallet in the men's restroom. The only thing missing was $64 in cash.
•Kay Ellen Drive, suspicious vehicle. Investigating a report of a suspicious vehicle, patrol found the driver who said he was taking his dog for a walk in the woods and was now on his way home.
Tuesday, Dec. 4
•Niagara Falls Boulevard and Tuscarora Road, check the welfare. Report of a woman, possibly in the roadway. Patrol found a woman sitting on a bench waiting for a bus, who appeared to be talking to herself, but not in danger.
•2500 block of Military Road, larceny. Patrol arrested a 45-year-old Pierce Avenue woman for shoplifting two ear-hair trimmers, cough syrup and a blouse. Recovered merchandise was valued at $53.86.
Wednesday, Dec. 5
•1900 Military Road, larceny. Complainant reported a shoplifter exited the store with a pair of Prada sunglasses valued at $280 and a pair of Armani sunglasses valued at $190.
•7100 block of Laur Road, EMS. Ill male. Rural Metro Ambulance transported to Mount St. Mary's Hospital and Health Center.
•Military Road, drug charge. A 39-year-old Bellreng Drive man was stopped for speeding and having a cracked windshield; was found to have revoked license; was in possession of acetaminophen and hydrocodone pills and a baggie of suspected marijuana; and had an active arrest warrant out of Lockport.
Thursday, Dec. 6
•Military Road, traffic arrest. A driver flagged down patrol and said he was sideswiped by another driver. Patrol found the driver in question who said she looked back to talk to her son in the back seat when she struck the other car. She said that driver continued to drive, so she was on her way home when stopped by patrol.
•4700 Chester Avenue, harassment. Complainant said her ex-boyfriend left a harassing message and a picture of himself naked on her cell phone.
Friday, Dec. 7
•Service Road, check situation. Caller reported she saw a pile of hay and skinned animals. Patrol observed the hide of a coyote in the field.
•Military Road, unlawful possession of marijuana. A19-year-old Creekside Parkway male was arrested after a traffic stop when marijuana was found inside the center armrest of his vehicle.
•2000 block of Tuscarora Road, suspicious person. Homeowner said an older man in a black Pontiac stopped in front of her residence and took photos, as he has done several times previously in recent months.
Saturday, Dec. 8
•3100 block of Woodland Avenue, animal problem. Caller complained of a dog barking outside for more than an hour. Owner advised to bring dog in for the night.
•2500 block of Military Road, larceny. A 24-year-old Elsa Place man was arrested for shoplifting a $79.99 drill. In another incident a 29-year-old Pierce Avenue woman was arrested for shoplifting a pair of men's sneakers, leaving an old pair in the box. She said she was on mental health medications, which affected her decision.
•5900 block of Hyde Park Boulevard, aid assist. Patrol assisted Lewiston Police on a report of an elderly male with dementia who was in possession of a handgun.
Sunday, Dec. 9
•I-190 South, traffic ticket. Ticket issued for failure to move over for an emergency vehicle roadside with emergency lights activated.
•1900 block of Military Road, vandalism. An Ontario resident reported someone smashed out a window of his vehicle while it was parked outside the mall and took two men's winter jackets and a passport.
Monday, Dec. 10
•5200 block of Sweet Home Road, larceny. Caller reported someone stole an inflatable snow globe that was in her front yard.
•1500 block of Military Road, larceny. A business representative reported that while he was helping another customer, a man about 20 to 25 years old took two pairs of wireless headphones and left the store.
