The Tatler Club Inc. and a community friend made donations to Opportunities Unlimited of Niagara, providing complete holiday meals for seven individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities and their families. These holiday baskets were presented to the participants of the supportive services exceptional parenting/family support program at its monthly meeting.
The family support program trains parents with a developmental disability in various aspects of parenting with an emphasis on health, safety and community awareness. Opportunities Unlimited of Niagara assists in the collaboration of services with schools, the department of social services and other community-based providers.
"Supporting people in our community is one of the goals of the Tatler Club," said Tatler Club Inc. president Connie Walmsley.
For nearly 60 years, Opportunities Unlimited of Niagara, the Niagara County Chapter of NYSARC Inc., and a United Way agency, has provided individuals with developmental disabilities the resources necessary to achieve independence in their daily lives and enjoy community-based recreation, residential, employment and volunteer opportunities.
