Two Youngstown Yacht Club teams win two different North American championships (in the same week!)

First Today wins Beneteau First 36.7 North American Championship for third time

First Today, with skipper Gary Tisdale of Lewiston, Adam Burns of Lewiston, Jack Huebschmann of Lewiston, John Goller of Buffalo, Jimmy Carminati of Youngstown, Todd Hiller of Annapolis, Md., Tom Esposito of Amherst, Rich Carlo of Wilson, Ryan Suitor of Youngstown, and Jason Suitor of Youngstown, defended their North American Championships title once again. They won two years ago in Annapolis, and repeated last year in Toronto. This time, they got the job done in Cleveland against 19 other boats.

Jug 4-1 wins North American J-22 Championship in Tawas Bay, Mich.

Jug 4-1, with skipper Chris Doyle of Kenmore, Burns, and Will Harris of Wilson, won the North American Championship in Tawas Bay, Mich. They competed against 30 other boats from Sept. 10 to 12. The team won with a very convincing total of only 16 points for nine races - the second place boat had almost twice as many points.
