Visitors to Lewiston have noticed progress at Emery Simon's wine bar, the Stone House (755 Center St.), and at the former "Bucket of Blood" (65 Center St.), which his company is rehabbing for Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours.

"The building is definitely coming along," Christina Crane, manager of new business development at Simon Construction Co., said of the Stone House. "As with any older structure, it has taken longer to make renovations than we originally anticipated. We are working as quickly as possible to get the Stone House up and running. We want to capture the essence of the end of summer for people to come down and enjoy. As always, we have appreciated the ongoing excitement and support from the residents, surrounding communities, and social media family."

"We are taking applications for bartenders and management candidates," she said. Those interested (age 21 and over) can email their resume to[email protected].

With regard to the WJBT property, "We are finishing up the restrooms and will continue to work on the patio expansion," Crane said.
