Dr. Joseph Bax is chair of 10th annual 'River Run'

Event to benefit Mount St. Mary's outpatient rehabilitation center services

Mount St. Mary's Hospital will hold its 10th annual "River Run" on Saturday, Aug. 11. Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Joseph Bax (pictured) is the honorary chairman.

The USATF sanctioned 5k run/2-mile walk starts at 9 a.m. The course starts and ends at the Red Brick Municipal Building in the Village of Lewiston, with a main portion of the course following Lower River Road in Lewiston.

Registration will be held from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. at the Red Brick, 145 N. Fourth St. The post-race party is at 10 a.m. and the award's ceremony at 10:30 a.m. The finish line is provided by Western New York Finish Line Service.

Proceeds from the race will be used for new equipment at the Mount St. Mary's Center for Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Services on Colomba Drive in the Town of Niagara. The center offers the complete array of outpatient rehabilitation services, including physical, occupational and speech therapy, as well as sports medicine, athletic trainingand the lymphedema treatment program.
