Town of Niagara Police Blotter for April 5, 2012

The following is a sampling of calls received by the Town of Niagara Police between March 12 and 23.

Monday, March 12

•2400 block of Military Road, larceny. Complainant reported his wallet taken at a business.

•1900 block of Military Road, check situation. Male walking around mall wearing a mask, which frightened people.

Tuesday, March 13

•7000 block of Lockport Road, prowler. Complainant reported that for the past several nights someone has been banging on her windows.

•1200 block of Dogwood Place, drugs. Patrols responded on a call that a baby may have come in contact with a tissue that had cocaine residue on it. Baby was transported to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for evaluation by Rural Metro Ambulance.

Wednesday, March 14

•4900 block of Tuscarora Road, larceny. Two teenagers were arrested for attempting to syphon gas from neighbors' vehicles.

•Military Road, traffic ticket. Driver observed talking on a cell phone while driving.

•Saunders Settlement Road, Sanborn, reckless driver. Possible intoxicated driver in a white pickup truck reported.

Thursday, March 15

•3500 block of Hyde Park Boulevard, burglary. Business owner reported someone forced opened a fire door overnight and stole tools valued at $560.

Steele Circle, neighbor dispute. Neighbor yelling at children for throwing ball too close to car.

•Tuscarora and Lockport roads, juvenile problem. Three juveniles reported running into traffic on the bridge.

Friday, March 16

•1500 block of Fashion Outlet Boulevard, vandalism. Employee reported that overnight someone smashed the windshield of a company-owned vehicle.

•3500 block of Hyde Park Boulevard, larceny. Employee reported someone used a vehicle to back through a fence at a business and stole three doors valued at $1,100.

•2700 block of Military Road, hit and run. Unoccupied vehicle in parking lot struck by another vehicle, which left the scene.

Saturday, March 17

•1900 block of Military Road, larceny. A 16-year-old male was arrested for shoplifting a pair of sunglasses valued at $150.

•600 block of D Street, larceny. Complainant reported that a book bag containing X-box equipment was stolen out of his unlocked truck.

Sunday, March 18

•2000 block of Military Road, disorderly conduct. Male reported being punched in the head while trying to break up a fight. Female involved in the fight said she too was punched.

•Military Road, arrest. A 40-year-old Crescent Drive man was arrested for driving with an expired registration, no inspection sticker, a revoked license and a child in the back seat not in a child seat or seatbelt.

•Chester Avenue, suspicious vehicle. Patrol responded on a call about a truck driving over lawns. Negative results.

Monday, March 19

•3500 block of Hyde Park Boulevard, larceny. Employee reported that over the weekend a company vehicle was taken from in front of the business.

•600 block of B Street, check situation. Man said he was being yelled at by a neighbor whose grandson gave him a dog to dogsit. When the dog chewed up his property, he gave it away.

•8500 block of Porter Road, suspicious person. Complainant reported her 12-year-old granddaughter was approached by a man in a grey or silver vehicle at the bus stop who offered her a ride.

Tuesday, March 20

•6000 block of Packard Road, burglary. Complainant reported someone entered the business via an adjoining building and attempted to take the cash drawer.

•2900 block of Hyde Park Boulevard, larceny. Complainant reported her wallet was stolen at a bar on March 17.

•1500 block of Military Road, shoplifting. A 40-year-old Pine Avenue woman, who was shopping with her 14-year-old daughter, was arrested for leaving the store with a shopping cart and not paying for the items in it.

Wednesday, March 21

•400 block of A Street, juvenile problem. Complainant said her 14-year-old daughter was giving her a problem about going to school.

•4700 block of Theresa Lane, neighbor problem. Complainant said neighbor is accusing him of throwing stones at his residence during the night.

•4700 block of Tuscarora Road, larceny. An 18-year-old 11th Street man said his friends left him in the area, so he took a bicycle to try to get home. Victim of theft decided not to press charges.

Thursday, March 22

•Anthony Drive, suspicious person. Complainant reported hearing power tools running and was concerned about copper thefts from vacant trailers. Patrol checked with negative results.

•Homestead Avenue, domestic. Complainant reported he believes his 4-year-old son is being abused by his mother. Child Protective Services to follow up.

•1900 block of Military Road, larceny. A 19-year-old Buffalo man and a 23-year-old female suspected of shoplifting were arrested after fleeing the mall in a Jaguar at a high rate of speed, going through a stop sign at the mall and a red light at the intersection of Factory Outlet Boulevard and Niagara Falls Boulevard and forcing cars off the road after entering the I-190. The car crashed into a guardrail while trying to exit at Buffalo Avenue. The female driver then fled on foot and struggled with the arresting officer.

Friday, March 23

•2400 block of Military Road, animal problem. Caller reported an injured bird in a store parking lot.

•600 block of B Street, burglary. Complainant reported someone kicked in his door and stole stereo equipment.

•1600 block of Military Road, larceny. Mall security reported a male suspected of shoplifting fled the area at a high rate of speed in a black Nissan.
