Town of Niagara Police Blotter for Feb. 2, 2012

The following is a sampling of calls received by the Town of Niagara Police between Jan. 12 and 22.

Thursday, Jan. 12

•700 block of Sunnyside Drive, domestic. Two officers treated and released at Mount St. Mary's Hospital after struggling with juvenile resisting arrest. Juvenile had been smashing windows in his grandmother's residence.

•8500 block of Porter Road, domestic. Boyfriend/girlfriend had been arguing all day. Boyfriend agreed to leave for the night.

Friday, Jan. 13

•700 block of Sunnyside Drive, larceny. Complainant said her GPS system was stolen from her unlocked vehicle.

•3400 block of Miller Road, vandalism. Resident reported mailbox damaged. Tire tracks found in snow and spare tire was in the snow next to the mailbox.

•1000 block of Sunnyside Drive, larceny. Complainant said stereo equipment and two fishing poles were taken from unlocked vehicle in driveway overnight.

•Military Road, accident. Driver involved in accident after disregarding sign at plaza exit that prohibited left turn onto Military Road.

Saturday, Jan. 14

•9900 block of Porter Road, EMS call. Patrol assisted Rural Metro Ambulance with an EMS call.

•1900 block of Military Road, larceny. Complainant said she lost her phone, valued at $400, in the mall, and when she first called it, it rang, but when she called again it was shut off.

Sunday, Jan. 15

•Military Road, driving while intoxicated. Patrol stopped a vehicle for traveling 54 mph in a 40 mph zone. The 23-year-old driver was found to be intoxicated and cocaine was found in the vehicle.

•4200 block of Military Road, animal accident. Injured deer in the road.

•3300 block of Woodland Drive, vandalism. Complainant said someone shot at her house with a paintball overnight.

•1900 block of Military Road, check larceny. Patrol responded for a man wearing a Raiders jacket who was attempting to gain entry into vehicles in the mall parking lot. Shortly afterward, another call was received of a car that was broken into and a bag of baby clothing taken. Patrol found and arrested a 32-year-old 78th Street man matching the description and found the merchandise in his car. The man said it was his girlfriend who had stolen the merchandise.

Monday, Jan. 16

•1500 block of Military Road, larceny. A 40-year-old male and a 59-year-old woman, both residents of Sabre Park, were arrested for shoplifting steaks valued at $156.

•South Whitham Drive, burglary. Complainant reported car parts stolen from his garage. His daughter confessed to taking parts and selling them for scrap to support a drug habit. Complainant agreed to press charges in hope that it will make her get help for her addiction.

Tuesday, Jan. 17

•2300 block of Military Road, fraud. Complainant said a man attempted to purchase $1,451 in parts over the phone using a woman's credit card. When contacted, the Canadian woman said no one had permission to use her card.

•3000 block of Portland Street, domestic. Patrol responded for a male/female domestic called in by a 6-year-old on a cell phone. Woman upset by finding other women's numbers on male's cell phone. Both parties uncooperative with each other and patrols.

Wednesday, Jan. 18

•900 block of Sycamore Drive, larceny. An 18-year-old man was arrested for taking $40 from his mother's purse to purchase beer.

•7100 block of Lockport Road, fraud. Fraudulent charge of $200 out of Texas found on a town credit card.

•1000 block of Sunnyside Drive, domestic. Third party caller reported screaming a loud banging coming from a residence. Woman at residence told patrol that she and her boyfriend had an argument and she threw dishes and kicked a cupboard.

Thursday, Jan. 19

•Fashion Outlet Boulevard, drug arrest. Patrol noted a suspicious vehicle parked at the entrance to Sabre Park. The 42-year-old driver from Grand Island driver had a suspended license and a small envelope of crack cocaine was found under the driver's seat.

•4700 block of Garlow Road, vandalism. An 18-year-old woman was charged with criminal mischief for breaking a window at her grandparent's residence.

Friday, Jan. 20

•6000 block of Porter Road, larceny. Employee reported a male in his 20s left the store without paying for two drills valued at $245.93. License plate provided.

•2900 block of Birch Avenue, assist citizen. Elderly couple locked keys inside the house. Locksmith contacted.

Saturday, Jan. 21

•700 block of A Street, disturbance. About 20 people reported fighting in street. Niagara Falls Police on location first reported suspects ran in different directions on arrival.

•3900 block of Lockport Road, assault. Complainant said he went to the bathroom at a bar and was jumped by a 43-year-old Portand Street man. Patrol found the man at a relative's house and he was arrested for assault in the third-degree.

•Lockport Road, assist citizen. Patrol noticed a man walking in the middle of the road and coming dangerously close to traffic. Man appeared to be highly intoxicated and said he was walking home. Rural Metro called to have the man checked out at Mount St. Mary's Hospital.

Sunday, Jan. 22

•7400 block of Packard Road, assault. Patrol received a report of two 18-year-old men who had forced their way into another young man's mother's house and assaulted him. The man was taken to the hospital where he was found to have a broken nose and broken rib. Patrol interviewed the suspects who said they took offense at the other man beating up his girlfriend in Niagara Falls.

•Tuscarora Road, sexual offense. A woman reported her daughter while attending a sleepover with two friends, was assaulted by a neighbor of one of the girls.
