The family of Zac Jaenecke has announced plans for a fundraiser to help their son and his girlfriend recover from a devastating September fire that destroyed the couple's home on Sy Road in the Town of Wheatfield.

The benefit will take place from 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Town of Niagara Active Hose Co., 6010 Lockport Road.

On Sept. 6, a fire left Zac, an employee of Four Seasons Gifts, and his girlfriend, Sarah, with only memories, as all of their personal belongings were lost. In addition, the couple lost a number of pets in the fire, including two dogs, two cats, pet parakeets, a guinea pig, a snake and an iguana.

The benefit will feature a spaghetti dinner, a Chinese auction, 50/50 raffle, and a door prize. Tickets are priced at $20. Sue Jaenecke, Zac's mother, states that all proceeds will be given to the couple in the hopes that they will be able to rebuild their lives.

She adds that monetary donations, as well as household items, gift cards and other donations, are gratefully accepted.

To purchase tickets or send donations, contact Sara at 444-5480 or Sue at 213-8015.
