The City of Lockport's new refuse and recycling program begins Monday, Oct. 10. Currently, the cart delivery crews have completed the Monday and Tuesday collection routes, and will work through the weekend on the Wednesday and Thursday collection routes.

If you have not received your carts or received the incorrect size, continue to place your refuse to the curb and then call the city refuse and recycling hotline at 439-6752 to report. Take note that two trucks are delivering carts, one with recycling carts and one with refuse carts. If you would like to change your cart size, it is requested you call the city hotline after Nov. 14. Additional trash between now and Dec. 5 does not require an extra sticker for collection.

Monday will also start, for the first time, curbside recycling collection in the city. Read the literature provided in your recycling cart or visit www.curbsidelockport.com to determine if your property is an "A Week" or "B Week" recycler. If you wish to recycle your old refuse containers, affix a "Take Me" note on them, and Modern will collect them.
