The YellowJackets from the University of Rochester survived the second elimination round Monday on NBC's "The Sing-Off."
Michael Pittman, a 2009 Niagara-Wheatfield graduate, is a member of The YellowJackets and a junior at the University of Rochester.
On Monday's show, the six competing groups in the first bracket were reduced by one more (two groups were voted off Sept. 19). This week, the groups were asked to sing a modern hit and a song from the '60s. The YellowJackets chose "Dynomite" for its first song and its rendition of "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" was listed as No. 1 in audience voting.
Next Monday, the second set of six contestants will compete. The YellowJackets will be back to compete on the Oct. 17 show.
