Sentinel-area academic accolades

•The College at Brockport, State University of New York, recently honored students who excelled academically by naming them to the dean's list for the spring 2011 semester. Included are: Samantha Love of Ransomville, who was named to the dean's list; Ashley Harbison of Ransomville, who was named to the dean's list with honors; Rebecca Pringle of Sanborn, who was named to the dean's list; Matthew George of Sanborn, who was named to the dean's list with honors; Megan Walck of Sanborn, who was named to the president's list; Emily Marin of Youngstown, who was named to the dean's list; and Kristen Roemer of Youngstown, who was named to the dean's list.

To achieve the honor of being on the president's list, a student must earn a grade-point average of 4.0. Students who earn a GPA of 3.70-3.99 are named to the dean's list with honors, while students who achieve a 3.40-3.69 are named to the dean's list.

Anthony J. Caserta of Youngstown was named to the dean's list at Fairfield University for the spring 2011 semester. As a junior, Caserta studied in the Dolan School of Business.

To be selected for the dean's list, a student must attain a grade point average of at least 3.5, of a possible 4.0.

Haleigh J. Brown of Ransomville has reserved a place as a freshman at SUNY Oswego. Fall classes will begin Aug. 29. Brown is a graduate of Lewiston-Porter High School.

Tre Stroud of Diller Road in Sanborn has reserved a place as a transfer student at SUNY Oswego. Fall classes will begin Aug. 29.
