NC celebrates National Honor Society inductions

Niagara Catholic High School will celebrate the induction of 17 students into the National Honor Society on Wednesday, Feb. 9, with a candlelight ceremony beginning at 2 p.m. in the NC gymnasium. 

The students are: John Beilman, Felicia Chandler, Dianna Derigo, Raphael deRosa, Michael DeVole, Gregory Felstead, Jonathan Folmsbee, Jeffrey Gansworth, Jiashi Han, Justin Leathers, Lauren Loncki, Kimberly Milleville, Brandon O'Connor, Stephen Rodriguez, Natalie Schrack, Megan Sweeney, and Chelsea Tardibuono. 

According to Sarah Cessna, NC Spanish teacher and NHS advisor, students are chosen on the basis of maintaining an academic average of 90 percent or higher, outstanding leadership qualities, character values, and service to both their school and community. 

Judi Nolan-Powell, first vice president and commercial relationship manager for HSBC Bank and chair of the Niagara Catholic High School Board of Trustees will be the keynote speaker. 

A celebratory reception will be held in the NC cafeteria following the induction.
