Chris Castellani, president of Supermarket Liquors and Wines recently completed a fundraising effort to benefit the Toys for Tots fund, a program initiated by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. The Western New York campaign is coordinated by Company I, Third Battalion of the 25th Marines.

Contributions collected at Supermarket Liquors totaled $456. Castellani matched this contribution with another $3,000. Additionally, patrons filled two barrels of toys that were delivered to underprivileged children through the Toys for Tots program.

Castellani credits the success of this program locally to its chairman, Joe Marino, a retired Marine who has worked tirelessly for the success of this program. "I am committed to this program because of the tremendous effort that Joe puts forth each year. He is exceptionally dedicated to this cause," says Castellani.

Marino pointed out that all of the funds and toys collected in Western New York stay in the community and are distributed to needy families in time for the holidays.

In addition to his contribution to Toys for Tots, Castellani and Supermarket Liquors and Wines donated $1,000 to the United Way of Niagara and $1,000 to the Niagara Falls Fire Fighters Toy Fund this holiday season.
