For the eighth year, the Missoula Children's Theatre returns to the Kenan Center to cast 50 or more young actors and actresses, ages 5-17, in an original musical production titled, "The Tortoise Versus The Hare: The Greatest Race."

A group audition will take place at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, at Kenan Center Arena, 195 Beattie Ave., Lockport. Children do not need to have previous stage experience, but must be available for all required rehearsals and two performances, and must be currently enrolled in kindergarten through 12th grade.

The production is the culmination of a week-long residency in which the students work with MCT actor directors to learn songs, dance steps and speaking roles. The final production is staged with costumes and sets provided by the touring company.

There will be two performances held at the Starpoint High School auditorium, 4363 Mapleton Road, Pendleton, at 3 and 7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 16.  All seats are $6. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Kenan Center Business Office, 433 Locust St., Lockport, or at the door prior to each performance.
