The Castellani Art Museum of Niagara University's eighth annual fundraising gala, "Fly Me to the Moon!" will be held on Saturday, Oct. 16.

The evening features an elegant dinner, cocktails, and silent and live auctions featuring original art, designer handbags, fine jewelry, entertainment and gift packages. Tickets are $135 per person/$160 patron (listing in the program). Proceeds benefit Castellani Art Museum education and exhibition related programming.

The museum's Main Gallery will have an otherworldly ambiance, with decorations inspired by the exhibition, "Fly Me to the Moon: A Celebration of Celestial Bodies," from the Permanent Collection, designed by Rose Gellman. Guests are invited to "shoot for the moon," with attire ranging from casual to semi-formal.

Pam and Joe Priest of Lewiston are serving as honorary chairs of this year's event. The 2010 Gala Committee is chaired by prominent local sculptor Susan Geissler. Committee members include Ellen Augello, Carla Castellani, Anne LaBarbera, Deborah Laughton, Candace Lytle, Fay Northrop, Sophia Smith, Judith Taylor, Dorothy Tomarin and Gayle Walton.

Reservations must be received by Friday, Oct. 8.  For more information, contact Susan Clements at 286-8201 or e-mail [email protected].
