A fundraiser is being held for local music great Ned Wood, who is battling a rare and aggressive form of incurable cancer. The objective is to help Ned and his family with increasing medical expenses. The benefit will take place at the FrogHair Outdoor Patio, 7800 Transit Road, Williamsville, on Sunday, Sept. 26, from 4 until 9 p.m.

Ned is a keyboardist and founding member of Weekend, members of the Buffalo's Music Hall of Fame. He is also one of the creative talents in The BBC band, known for its authentic renditions of the Beatles and '60s music. He is also a seasoned recording studio musician and an artist who is known for his incredible concept murals for Buffalo State College and Niagara Mohawk.

Entertainment at the benefit will feature: The BBC, Weekend, BeatleMagic, Switch (reunion), JoyRyde and special guests. Tickets are $25 ($30 the day of the event) and are available by mail, through volunteers, and at the following locations: St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church, 2368 Eggert Road, Tonawanda, 14150 (831-1777); and Frog Hair, 7800 Transit Road (near Sheridan Drive), Williamsville, 14221.

Tickets should be made payable to Nestor Wood Benefit. For tickets by mail, simply mail your check/donation with a self-addressed stamped envelope to: Promotional Images Inc., c/o "A Night For Ned," 4422 Walden Ave., Lancaster, NY 14086.
